About The Gate Bar & Bistro
The Gate Bar & Bistro is a large modern pub on Beeliar Drive in Success, trading since 2008. It runs a bistro, a sports bar and an open-air Garden Bar, with a bottle shop and free parking on site. Functions can be held in any of these areas, from the beer gardens to the bistro dining room. You can ask for a particular area or let the team recommend one for your numbers. Your reserved section is yours, though a larger area may be shared with other bookings. The Garden Bar is the main function space, taking functions of 10 to 350 guests in a mix of seating and standing. It has open-air and undercover sections, gas heating, misting for hot days and a 7 square metre outdoor screen, with live music from Thursday to Sunday. There is no hire fee for function spaces. Instead, each guest counts for at least $15 of platters ordered ahead, or choose a set menu for a sit-down meal. Platters serve ten and include crostini, sushi, chicken skewers, sausage rolls, arancini and pizza. A bar tab can be set up on the day with the manager on duty, who also looks after food timing. You are welcome to bring a cake and decorate the area with flowers, banners and balloons, though glitter and confetti are not allowed. A $100 deposit secures the booking. How many guests can The Gate host?
The Garden Bar takes functions from 10 up to 350 guests with mixed seating and standing. Smaller groups can use the bistro or sports bar areas.
Is there a room hire fee?
No. Instead of a hire fee, each guest must account for at least $15 of platters ordered in advance, paid two weeks before the event. A $100 deposit holds the booking and comes off your platter order.
What set menus are available?
The Pub Classics set menu is $40 per person and the Premium set menu is $55 per person, both for a minimum of 10 people. Each includes shared entrées and a choice of mains.
Can we bring a cake and decorations?
Yes. Cakes are refrigerated and served with plates and cutlery for a $10 cakeage fee. Flowers, banners and balloons are fine, but glitter and confetti are not permitted.
Can under-18s attend a function?
Minors are welcome with a parent or guardian present at all times, but they must leave the venue by 9pm. The dress code is neat casual.

Awesome spot for dinner. Was plenty of room inside the dining area as most people were outside watching the footy. Had a lamb shank and wow it was tasty. Great atmosphere and lovely staff working there.

Great place to go for dinner. Have only been a couple of times but both times was busy & good vibes. We went last night & I had chicken schnitzel and husband had a steak and the food was 10/10! Highly recommend!
