About SKOL
SKOL is a neighbourhood bar and eatery on Ewen Street, Scarborough, with a pared-back Scandinavian look and a Northern European menu built around boards and shared plates. It trades from Wednesday to Sunday, from midday until late. There are three areas for groups. The private dining room is the quietest option, built around a single long table and seating up to 15 for a sit-down meal. Fika, the café corner of the venue, turns into a function space for up to 25, with an open-air alfresco side and a small indoor room. Out the back sits the courtyard, a shaded garden with its own entrance, separate amenities and seating spread across a few levels. The courtyard can be booked exclusively for 25 to 40 guests, or partly for groups of 15 to 25. Dogs are regulars out there too. Function food comes in three tiers. A grazing option with chips, squid and a vegan harvest board suits drinks-focused gatherings, a middle tier adds charcuterie, arancini, sliders and skewers, and the full feast covers five entrées, two mains, two sides and dessert. The bar pours signature cocktails, six rotating craft beer taps and wine from local and overseas producers, and the team builds a drinks package to suit your budget. In-house floral styling can be arranged on request.

There is no room hire fee for any space. The private dining room needs a $50 deposit and a spend of $50 per person on the day, and Fika and the courtyard carry a minimum spend quoted for your booking.

The feast includes charred bread with cultured butter, olives, pickled vegetables, squid and stracciatella, then a choice of two mains such as swordfish skewers, baked cauliflower or lamb chops, two sides and a dessert. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options are marked.

How many people can SKOL host?
The courtyard takes 25 to 40 guests on an exclusive booking, or 15 to 25 on a partial one. Fika holds up to 25 and the private dining room seats 8 to 15.
Is there a room hire fee?
No space carries a hire fee. Each has a minimum spend instead, and in the private dining room that is $50 per person, with a $50 deposit to secure the booking.
What function food packages are there?
Three shared menus: a grazing option at $35 per person, a more substantial spread at $55 per person, and a full feast at $75 per person with entrées, mains, sides and dessert. Gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options are marked.
When can the spaces be booked?
The venue opens Wednesday to Sunday. The private dining room has four sittings a day from late morning to late evening, while Fika and the courtyard take bookings in afternoon and evening blocks.
Can you decorate the space with flowers?
Yes. SKOL offers an in-house floral decoration service on request for private dining bookings.
