Herdsman Lake Tavern is a long-running local pub at 33 Herdsman Parade in Wembley. Alongside its bistro, main bar and sports bar, it sets aside several areas for private and semi-private functions. The main option is the private function area, a bright room with high ceilings and plenty of daylight. It takes up to 100 guests in a cocktail format or 60 at tables, and a television is on hand for a slideshow or presentation. For something less formal, the cocktail lounge sits next to the main bar and holds around 60 standing, with lounges to sink into and tall bar tables. The pool room is the third space on offer, suited to a relaxed get-together over a few games. Food comes as set menus or platters. The set menus start at $40 per person for a main and reach $58 per person for entree, main and dessert, with the whole group ordering from the same menu. Platters for roughly ten people include chicken skewers, arancini, sausage rolls, party pies, calamari, pizza slabs and sandwiches. Drinks run on a bar tab with a limit you choose, and a tea and coffee station can be added. A celebration cake can be brought in, though other outside food and drinks are not allowed. What do the function set menus cost?
Set menu 1 is $40 per person for a main, set menu 2 is $45 per person for entree and main, set menu 3 is $48 per person for main and dessert, and set menu 4 is $58 per person for three courses. Everyone in the group needs to be on the same set menu.
Can we bring a birthday cake?
Yes, a celebration cake is allowed and can be noted on the booking form. All other food and every drink must come from the venue.
How do drinks work at a function?
