About Brooklands Tavern
Brooklands Tavern is a neighbourhood pub at 7 Holmes Street in Southern River, with a sports bar, a bistro and outdoor seating. It takes bookings for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate get-togethers and social or sports club events. The main indoor space sits next to the main bar but is separate from it, and it can be booked exclusively. It holds up to 60 guests for a relaxed cocktail-style function, and its two pool tables can be moved out if you need the floor space. Outside, the beer garden beside the bistro takes 50 to 70 guests depending on the format. Misters keep it cool in summer and outdoor heaters take the chill off in winter. Food is ordered by the platter, each serving about 10 guests as a snack, with choices from chicken skewers and arancini to pizza slabs and picnic sandwiches. Drinks can run on a bar tab, and you settle the platters and tab at the end of the night. There is no room hire fee, no cakeage charge and no deposit, and there is plenty of parking on site. Does Brooklands Tavern charge room hire?
No. There is no room hire fee for either function space, and no fee for bringing your own cake. The team will also provide plates and cutlery for it.
How many guests can the function spaces hold?
The indoor room beside the main bar takes up to 60 guests cocktail style, and your group can have it to itself. Outside, the garden holds 50 to 70, depending on how the function is set up.
What food can we order?
Function catering is by the platter, each feeding about 10 guests as a snack. Choices include chicken skewers, guacamole and chips, hummus with vegetables or bread, pumpkin and feta arancini, calamari, spicy prawns, party pies, sausage rolls, pizza slabs and sandwiches.
Is a deposit required?
No deposit is needed. Your booking is confirmed once the confirmation form is returned, and platters and any bar tab are paid at the end of the function.
Can under-18s attend?
Guests under 18 are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian, but they need to leave the venue by 10pm.
