Pinot & Picasso North Sydney is a paint and sip studio inside Greenwood Plaza, directly opposite North Sydney train station. Each session is led by an artist who breaks one artwork down into easy steps, so a table of complete beginners finishes the night with a canvas they can take home. The studio is BYO, so guests bring their own wine or drinks, and there is an IGA downstairs in the plaza for anyone who arrives empty-handed. The public calendar runs most weeks with Thursday evening midweek specials, Friday night sessions and weekend afternoon or evening sessions, plus themed nights such as paint your pet, paint your partner and textured art. Groups of fewer than 15 can book seats in a regular session and be seated together. Groups of 15 or more can enquire about a private function: team-building and corporate sessions run on weekdays during business hours and last from about two hours, while hens and bridal shower packages run seven days and last from about three hours, with themes and extras such as paint the bride, drag queen hosting, karaoke or musical bingo available at an extra cost. The studio has two rooms and holds up to 55 people at a time, with a fridge, glassware, water and cutlery on hand. Food is BYO too, or function groups can order grazing boards or pizza packages through the studio's catering partners. Sessions generally take two and a half to three hours, and arriving about ten minutes early gives time to settle in. It suits hens nights, work Christmas parties, team days and birthday groups who would rather make something together than sit at a restaurant table.
