About Brush and Sip
Brush and Sip runs painting sessions from its studio at 547 King Street, Newtown. Over roughly three hours an instructor leads the group through a painting on canvas one stage at a time, and everyone brings their own drinks and snacks. The focus is on giving it a go rather than learning fine art technique, so complete beginners are fine. Those three hours allow for arriving, breaks while each layer dries, and cleaning up and taking photos at the finish. Public sessions cost $55 per person and feature a different painting each time. Private events cost $60 per person for three hours with the studio booked just for your group, need at least 12 guests and take no more than 36, and you pick the painting from the studio's range. The studio runs birthdays, hens parties, team building, Christmas parties, farewells, reunions and family occasions, and can come to an outside venue for a higher rate plus a transport fee. Kids' parties for ages 6 to 12 are $35 for two hours. It's BYO only, with no drinks for sale and no catering. You'll find a fridge, glassware and a Bluetooth speaker, and a few serving platters can be provided if you ask, so bring plates, napkins and cutlery if you'll need them. Food can be delivered to you once you're there. Private sessions run in fixed time slots across the week, with morning, afternoon and 7pm starts on weekends.

How much does Brush and Sip cost?

How many people do we need for a private event?

Can we bring our own drinks and food?
Yes, and you need to, as the studio doesn't sell alcohol or offer catering. There's a fridge, glassware and a small number of serving platters, and you can have food delivered after you arrive.
What is included in the price?
Three hours at the studio, an instructor leading the painting, all paints and equipment, an apron, glassware and a 40 x 50cm canvas you take home. Private bookings also get the studio to themselves, their pick of painting and a Bluetooth speaker.
When can we book a private event?
Monday to Thursday, start any time from 10am, with 7pm the last start. Friday and Saturday starts are 9am, 2pm or 7pm, and Sunday starts are 10am, 3pm or 7pm, depending on availability. Fill in the online request form and the studio will email you within 72 hours with a link to pay the deposit.
