About The Old Dairy Maleny
The Old Dairy Maleny is a family-owned wedding venue on Landsborough Maleny Road, set on a former working dairy farm of about ninety acres. The owners restored the old buildings and added new ones after hosting a family wedding of their own on the property. The farm sits high on a ridge above a valley, with views towards the Glass House Mountains, rolling paddocks, a patch of old rainforest and a lawn that looks across to Bunya pines. Only a limited number of weddings are held each year, and each one has the estate to itself. Ceremonies are usually held at the Lookout, which faces down the valley and can be dressed with arbours and flowers, with a bell tower standing in front of it. The rainforest and the lawn are the other ceremony choices, and there is a wet-weather backup. Receptions move into the Grand Barn, a bright space with high ceilings, exposed timber beams and a large stone fireplace. Nearby, the Fox & Turkey Bar is a small rustic bar with darts and cow-trough eskies, used for canapés and for drinks late into the evening. Under one of the cottages, the Whisky Cellar Bar gives the wedding party a quiet underground spot, and a firepit near the bell tower keeps guests warm on cool hinterland nights. Guests can also stay on site in two cottages if a weekend package is chosen. The venue is hired without bundled food or drink, so couples bring in their own caterer, an approved bar provider and any styling. Cocktail-style receptions and seated dinners both work, with up to 90 guests.

The ceremony and reception package and the ceremony-only package both cover up to 90 guests. The micro wedding package is for up to 25, and the elopement packages are for up to 10, with the option of adding up to 10 more for an extra fee per guest.
What does venue hire for a ceremony and reception cost?
Ceremony and reception venue hire starts from $11,800 and is available seven days, with a surcharge on public holidays. It includes exclusive use for the standard hire window, ceremony chairs and a signing table, the Barn and its lawns, the Fox & Turkey Bar for drinks service and an on-site staff member.
Are there smaller or weekday packages?
Yes. Elopement venue hire is $3,800 from Monday to Friday, and an elopement package that includes a celebrant, photographer, cake and flowers starts from $8,800. A ceremony-only package is $4,800 from Monday to Thursday, and a micro wedding of up to 25 guests with four hours on the estate is $5,800 from Monday to Friday.
Can we choose our own caterer and bar service?
Yes. Venue hire does not include catering, drinks, glassware, bar staff, tableware or entertainment, so you bring in your own suppliers. Bar service at the Fox & Turkey Bar needs an approved bar provider.
What time does a wedding need to finish?
The curfew is 11pm on Saturdays and 10pm from Sunday to Friday. Suppliers can bump in on the morning of the wedding, and there is a window the next morning to collect décor and personal items.
