About Goodwater Ridge
Goodwater Ridge is a family-owned wedding and event property on Bald Knob Road at Bald Knob, in the hinterland country around Maleny. Owners Tom and Ngaire built it after years of travelling through Europe, and the whole place takes its look from the Mediterranean. The property works like a small village. There is a whitewashed chapel for ceremonies, a stone ruin built to look like an old European landmark, a glass-roofed Atrium and a separate reception room, all set within open grounds with garden and rural views. The reception room seats up to 100 guests, and the Atrium beside it suits canapés, cocktail-style gatherings or a long-table dinner under natural light. A dance floor and a fitted bar keep the evening going once dinner is done. There is no in-house restaurant. Instead a caterer's kitchen is set up for plating, and hosts choose from caterers working in the region, which leaves the menu style open. Weddings are the main business, sold as one-day or three-day packages for up to 90 guests, with smaller ceremony, elopement and long-table options. The owners also take corporate retreats, product launches, conferences, engagement parties and extended family gatherings, with function hire running for a minimum of two hours. One-day wedding packages for up to 90 guests start from $12,000 midweek and $14,000 on a Friday or Saturday. Three-day packages, which include all on-site accommodation for 16, start from $18,000 midweek and $20,000 on a Friday or Saturday. Ceremony-only hire starts from $4,500, a mini ceremony for up to 25 guests from $3,000 and an elopement for up to 10 from $2,500.
