About The Mallard Duck
The Mallard Duck is a wedding venue on John Street in Henley Brook, in the Swan Valley. The property is ringed by tropical planting, old shade trees, wide lawns and its own lake, and each wedding has the whole place to itself. Guests arrive along a fairy-lit garden path to a timber ceremony deck overlooking the lake and its fountain. After the vows, drinks and canapes are served by the water, where a tiki bar, lounges and cocktail tables are set up. Receptions are held on a lawn beneath palms strung with fairy lights, with festoons above and the lake beyond. The venue takes 50 to 140 guests, seated or cocktail style, and a permanent marquee with a wooden dance floor serves as the wet-weather plan. Three packages set the starting point. Simply Celebrate is a 4.5-hour cocktail buffet wedding for midweek and off-peak Fridays; the Deluxe Ceremony and Cocktail Reception runs six hours with canapes and substantial meals; and the Exclusive Ceremony and Sit-Down Reception adds a plated or shared banquet dinner. Each package includes a drinks package, a DJ and MC, bar and kitchen staff, an event manager on the day, and set-up and pack-down. How many guests can The Mallard Duck hold?
The venue takes weddings of 50 to 140 guests. Each package is built from a 50-guest minimum, and the permanent marquee seats up to 70 with room to dance.
Will another wedding be on site the same day?
No. The Mallard Duck is exclusive use, so your wedding has the whole property for the day.
What happens if it rains?
A permanent 15 m by 10 m marquee with a dance floor is on site, more marquee space can be arranged, and the ceremony can be styled inside with draping and florals.
Can we bring our own suppliers?
Yes. The core package suppliers are part of the coordinated day, but premium extras are optional and couples are free to bring in their chosen florist, photographer or cake maker. The menu can also be tailored, for example to an Indian-style menu.
What time does the reception finish?
You choose the ceremony time, and receptions finish by 11pm. Outdoor live music runs until 8pm, after which dance music moves into the marquee.
