About The Rooftop Sydney
The Rooftop Sydney is the rooftop of the Shelbourne Hotel, on level 3 at 200 Sussex Street on the western edge of the CBD, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing views over Darling Harbour. Its signature feature is a retractable roof: open it for an alfresco party, close it for a fully enclosed room, which takes the weather out of the planning. The booking is for the whole venue. The L-shaped room has its own private bar and bathrooms, space for an optional dance floor, and you choose the music. It holds up to 300 standing, or 80 seated for dinner. In-house AV includes a cordless microphone for speeches, a projector and screen, and a TV for photo slides or brand content. Food is in-house, with extensive vegan and gluten-free options. The venue's roaming three-course canapé package — about 11 pieces per guest with tray service, from oysters and Peking duck pancakes to wagyu skewers and mini chocolate tarts — costs $82.50 per person for 30 guests or more. If you want strong cocktails, come here. 4 star rather than 5 because it took 15 minutes to get 2 cocktails which was a bit crazy, the place wasn't even nearly full.
