About The Rooftop Sydney
Sitting on top of the Shelbourne Hotel at 200 Sussex Street, level 3, The Rooftop Sydney looks west from the edge of the CBD across Darling Harbour through glass that runs from floor to ceiling. The roof itself retracts. Roll it back for an open-air party or shut it and the space becomes a closed room, so a bad forecast doesn't have to change the plan. You hire the venue in full. It's an L-shaped space with a bar and bathrooms reserved for your group, room to add a dance floor if you want one, and your choice of music. Standing capacity is 300, and it seats 80 for a sit-down dinner. The house AV covers a wireless microphone for toasts, a projector with its own screen, plus a TV to loop photos or company material. Catering comes from the venue's own kitchen and covers vegan and gluten-free guests well. The three-course roaming canapé package brings around 11 pieces per guest out on trays, running from oysters and Peking duck pancakes through wagyu skewers to small chocolate tarts, at $82.50 per person with a minimum of 30 guests. It works well for an end-of-year party, a major birthday or a company celebration.
