In An Instant Photo Booth is a Sydney business run by Jess Pace and Seb Alvarez. Jess started it in 2008 after setting up a photo shoot for a friend's birthday, and it first traded at The Finders Keepers Market. Today the pair bring open-air booths and a 360 video platform to weddings, birthdays, corporate events and brand activations. Their pitch is energy as much as equipment: the attendant hands out props, suggests poses and keeps the queue moving. There are three booths. The Halo Booth is the flagship, with a touchscreen app, a mirrorless camera, studio flash, GIFs and boomerangs, and unlimited 2x6 and 4x6 prints. The Selfie Booth is a compact option built on an iPad with LED lights. It runs on battery or mounts to a wall, which suits tight spaces or venues without easy power, and it prints unlimited 2x6 strips. The 360 Video Booth spins around guests on a platform with LED lights, custom video overlays, their pom pom crowns and light sticks, and a live gallery. Every package includes a standard backdrop, props, digital sharing, an online gallery and a full-time attendant. Extras include deluxe or custom-printed backdrops, tinsel curtains, linen or timber guest books, and full branding for corporate events, including lead capture. The team arrives up to two hours before the start to install, and the hire time only begins at the official opening time. The Halo Booth needs about 2.5 x 2.5 metres and the 360 about 3 x 3 metres, with mains power close by. Delivery is free in Sydney metro, and travel is quoted for venues outside Sydney. Every guest in a shot gets a print, and an extra copy goes in the guest book if you have one.

Packages start at $990 including GST. The wedding price list has the Selfie Booth at $990 for three hours, $1,150 for four and $1,325 for five, and the Halo Booth at $1,100, $1,350 and $1,425. The 360 Video Booth is $1,625, with extra hours at $300, and an iPad sharing kiosk is $99. Add-ons include deluxe backdrops from $350, custom guest books from $150, a linen guest book for $30 (free on packages of four hours or more) and extra 4x6 prints for $99. A 50 per cent deposit is due within seven days of accepting the quote, and the balance is invoiced 14 days before the event.
