About Strange World Escape Rooms
Strange World Escape Rooms is on Flinders Street in Darlinghurst. Its current game, Cabin Cult, opened in October 2025. Your group has booked a woodland Airbnb that turns out to be far stranger than its reviews, and you have to find the key while dodging Betty, the owner, as the cabin gives up its secrets. The game runs across six rooms. It blends horror with a lot of crude comedy and is played with a live actor, jump scares, fog and strobe effects. You'll also need to crawl, with at least two players going through. Every booking is a private session, so no strangers join your group. Games take 2 to 8 players, and the per-person price is lower for groups of five or more. There is a 10% discount on weekday sessions for groups of at least four. Groups of more than eight, or with special requests, arrange things directly with the team by phone or email. When booking, you choose how scary you want it: bring on the scares, decide on the day, or no scares at all. In a no-scare session the lighting is brighter, the jump scares are dropped, and the actor keeps things fun rather than frightening. Cabin Cult is recommended for ages 15 and over. Younger players can take part with at least one person aged 15 or older. The coarse language and adult humour make it a good fit for birthday groups and hens or bucks parties that want something livelier than a standard puzzle room. The puzzles include colour-based clues. The team's earlier room, Mrs Claws, was nominated for Top Room 2025 in the TERPECA escape room awards and is due to return.

How much does Strange World cost?
It is $75 per person for 2 to 4 players and $65 per person for 5 to 8 players. Weekday sessions are 10% off for groups of four or more. Two-player bookings on weekday nights from 5pm, on weekends and on public holidays are charged at the three-player price.
Is Cabin Cult too scary for some of our group?
You pick the scare level when you book: full scares, decide on the day, or no scares. No-scare sessions have brighter lighting, no jump scares and a live actor who keeps things light, so nervous players can still enjoy the game.
Is there a minimum age?
Cabin Cult is recommended for ages 15 and over because of the adult humour, coarse language and jump scares. Players aged 14 and under must be accompanied by at least one person aged 15 or older.
