About Strange World Escape Rooms
Strange World Escape Rooms operates from Flinders Street, Darlinghurst, and its game right now is Cabin Cult, launched in October 2025. The set-up: your group has rented an Airbnb in the woods, it's much weirder than the reviews let on, and you need to track down the key while keeping clear of Betty, who owns the place, as the cabin reveals what it's been hiding. Play moves through six rooms. The tone is horror mixed with plenty of crude humour, and it's run with fog, strobe lighting, jump scares and a live actor. There's crawling involved too, and at least two of your group will need to do it. Sessions are always private, so you never share the game with people you don't know. Between 2 and 8 can play, with a cheaper per-person rate once you have five or more, and weekday bookings of four or more get 10% off. For groups bigger than eight or anything out of the ordinary, phone or email the team to organise it. You set the fear factor when you book: go all in on the scares, leave it until the day, or skip them entirely. With no scares, the lights are turned up, the jump scares are removed and the actor plays it for laughs. The recommended age is 15 and up. Anyone younger needs a player who is 15 or over in the group with them. With swearing and adult humour in the mix, it suits hens and bucks parties and birthday groups looking for something more lively than a regular puzzle room. Some puzzles rely on telling colours apart. The team's previous game, Mrs Claws, is expected to come back.

How much does Strange World cost?
Groups of 2 to 4 pay $75 per person, and groups of 5 to 8 pay $65 per person. Weekday bookings of four or more get 10% off. A booking for two on a weekday evening from 5pm, a weekend or a public holiday is charged as if it were three players.
Is Cabin Cult too scary for some of our group?
You choose when booking: all the scares, leave it until the day, or none at all. With no scares the lights are brighter, the jump scares are taken out and the actor keeps it playful, so jumpy players can still have fun.
Is there a minimum age?
The game is recommended for 15 and over, given the jump scares, swearing and adult jokes. Players 14 or younger need someone aged 15 or above playing with them.
How long does the game take and what should we know before booking?
Cabin Cult runs for 70 minutes over six rooms. Expect strobe lights, fog, puzzles that use colour and a little crawling, which at least two players must do. You can pay at the time of booking or at the venue later.
