About La Fiesta Entertainment
La Fiesta Entertainment is a Sydney dance company specialising in Brazilian and Latin shows. It was founded by Patricia Falciola, an Australian salsa champion who also placed in New York salsa competitions. She is an accredited passista (Rio de Janeiro samba dancer) and trains regularly in Rio and Bahia. The signature production is a Brazilian carnival show: samba dancers in feathered headdresses and back pieces, capoeira martial-arts acrobatics, lambada with lifts and throws, and batucada, which is live Brazilian group drumming. The wedding packages show how the format scales. Package 1 is 35 minutes with four performers and five numbers. Package 2 is 45 minutes with six performers and adds axé. Package 3 runs 45 to 60 minutes with eight performers, adds salsa and ends with a parade through the crowd and photos with the dancers. Package 4 is the same show with 10 performers. Every package includes a host, all costumes and accessories, and an audience-participation segment where guests are brought up to dance. Other shows include Fiesta Latina (samba to salsa, tango and rumba), Viva Cuba, Fuego Argentino, an Around the World show and the Cabalesque cabaret show. La Fiesta performs at weddings, birthdays, corporate functions and Christmas parties, harbour cruises, hens and bucks nights, restaurants and community events. The drummers also dance in every number. The team considers the venue’s acoustics and can advise on lighting so the costumes show well. They suggest scheduling the show away from food service and making sure every guest has a clear view.
