About Bearish Sydney
Bearish Sydney runs hands-on creative stations rather than a show. Guests paint a plaster bear by pouring and tilting fluid paint over it, mix and colour their own slime from scratch, or build phone charms, bag charms and keychains from a spread of beads and findings. The company began with the fluid bear painting and now splits its work between corporate activations and mobile parties in people's homes, having previously run from a space in Alexandria. The at-home party is the version most families book. You pick a date, the team advises on where in the house the activity should sit, and they arrive early with everything needed. Packages are priced per guest, with a minimum of fifteen: the Winnie the Pooh package gives each child a 23cm mini bear and a bear keychain, the Slime Creator package gives two large DIY slimes and unlimited charms, and the Sanrio bundle swaps in a large Sanrio character and a kawaii keyring. Custom ideas are quoted on request. The team is on site for two to three hours depending on the group, with 15 to 30 minutes to set up and about half an hour to pack down and clean, and they will bring tables and chairs if you need them. Painting works best indoors so wind does not knock the bears over, and finished bears need 24 to 48 hours drying time in the house, so guests collect them afterwards rather than carrying them home wet. The same stations scale up for corporate events, brand launches and school days, where Bearish has worked with TikTok, Canon, Canva and Steve Madden.

What activities can we choose from?

How much does an at-home party cost?
Packages are priced per guest. The Winnie the Pooh package and the Slime Creator package are both $55 per person, and the Sanrio bundle is $65 per person. There is a minimum of 15 guests, and mobile parties also carry a travel fee of $100 to $400.
How long is the party and how much notice do you need?
The team is at the venue for two to three hours depending on party size, with 15 to 30 minutes of setup before and about 30 minutes of pack-down and cleaning afterwards. Three to four weeks' notice is ideal for corporate activations and large events, and smaller private parties can sometimes be fitted in sooner.
What is the travel fee based on?
It ranges from $100 to $400 and depends on how far you are from their studio, how big the party is, and what they need to bring. Supplying your own tables and chairs brings it down; asking them to bring seating pushes it up.
Do guests take their bears home on the day?
No. Fluid bears take 24 to 48 hours to dry fully, so you need an indoor space where they can sit overnight. The team will show you how to pack them once they are dry, ready for guests to collect.
