About Zulu

Zulu is a Seawind 1050 Resort catamaran set up for easy-going groups of up to 28 on Sydney Harbour. Much of her deck is undercover, so there's shade on hot days and shelter if it rains, while the open layout keeps everyone together. Up front, the sea spa nets are made for lying in the sun, and a floating lily pad is included for when it's time to swim. The surround sound system connects over Bluetooth, and two large esky coolers keep the drinks cold. Zulu is fully BYO. There are two BBQs and a kitchenette for cooking, with crockery and cutlery provided, so it's easy to put on a spread without paying for catering. In the cooler months she can also be booked for as little as 2 hours.

Pricing

From April to September, Zulu is $400 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours. From October to March the minimum is 4 hours, at $450 per hour Sunday to Friday and $500 per hour on Saturdays. Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Australia Day are a flat $3,000 for 4 hours, and other public holidays carry a 20% surcharge.

Wharf fees are $50 per wharf, with Manly an extra $100 each way. The BYO fee is $150 and covers disposable crockery, cutlery, cups, napkins and rubbish removal. Ice is $6 per bag and pre-loading is $100. An $800 deposit secures the booking, the balance is due 10 days before the event, and a $500 bond is paid before the cruise and returned afterwards.

Food

Zulu is BYO food only, and there's no catering on board. Two BBQs and a kitchenette make it easy to cook for the group, and crockery and cutlery are provided as part of the $150 BYO fee.

Beverages

Drinks are BYO, with cups provided and two large esky coolers on board. Ice can be supplied at $6 a bag, and four bags are recommended for a full charter. The $150 BYO fee applies.

Wharfs & Availability

Zulu is available daily, subject to confirmation. The minimum charter is 2 hours from April to September and 4 hours from October to March.

Lavender Bay is her preferred wharf and King Street Wharf in the CBD is the most popular. Rose Bay, Rushcutters Bay, Ives Steps at Dawes Point, Towns Place and Pyrmont Park are also available, and Manly can be arranged for an extra $100 each way. Other locations can be requested, with fees depending on the wharf. Zulu can't pick up from The Rocks, Circular Quay or Woolloomooloo. Loading drinks ahead of time costs $100, subject to availability.
