About Spellbound

Spellbound is a 12-metre Rogers catamaran fitted out for comfort, with room for up to 28 guests across its entertaining areas and interiors. The aft seating area has an optional sunshade, so you can sit in the sun or out of it. On board there's a smart TV, a premium Bluetooth stereo with speakers front and rear, and two double cabins. The bathroom has an electric toilet, separate basin, shower and a make-up area, which your group will appreciate on a longer charter. When you stop for a swim, there's a swimming platform and an outdoor shower, and the kayak, stand-up paddleboard and Aqua Lily Pad come at no extra cost. The BBQ is on board and the skipper can cook for you, whether you order catering or bring your own. Note that Spellbound doesn't take bookings for 21sts, hens or bucks parties.

Pricing

Spellbound's lowest rate is $2,000 for a 4-hour charter from April to August, which works out to $500 per hour, with extra hours at $500. From September to March it's $2,100 for 4 hours plus $525 per extra hour, except Saturdays in November and Friday to Sunday in December, which are $2,200 plus $550 per extra hour.

Public holidays and events are priced separately: Boxing Day and Australia Day are $3,300 for 5 hours plus $660 per extra hour; New Year's Day is $2,640 for 4 hours or $3,300 for 5; other public holidays and the HarbourLife Festival are $2,520 for 4 hours plus $630 per extra hour; Vivid is $1,380 for 2 hours or $1,580 for 3; and New Year's Eve is $15,800 for 7 hours from 6pm to 1am, including the BYO surcharge and two wharf fees. Otherwise the $100 BYO surcharge and $50 wharf fees are extra. Pre-access for decorating is $100. A $1,000 deposit confirms the booking, the balance is due 10 days before, and a $500 bond is returned after the cruise.

Food

Catering orders carry a $40 delivery fee. For small groups of 2 to 8 there's a premium BBQ menu at $92 per person with a grazing platter, peppered rump steak, smoked salmon, lemon chicken, salads, baguette, brownies and cheese. Larger groups can choose the classic BBQ ($59 per person, minimum 10), a seafood buffet with prawns, salmon and oysters ($90, minimum 10), or buffet menus from $29 (minimum 20) up to $90 for the Asian-themed spread (minimum 15). Canapé menus run from $49 to $112 per person, a small-numbers canapé menu is $50 per person from 4 guests, and platters range from $69 to $258, alongside fruit, sweet treats and dessert platters. Or bring your own food: plates, cutlery and BBQ gear are provided under the $100 BYO surcharge, and the skipper can cook the BBQ. Early drop-off of food is by application only.

Spellbound is BYO for drinks and ice. Cups, wine glasses, champagne flutes and an esky are provided under the $100 BYO surcharge. Early drop-off of drinks is by application only.

Wharfs & Availability

Spellbound is available daily, subject to availability, for 4-hour charters. Preferred times are before 5pm or after 6pm. If you'd like to decorate, up to 3 people can get on board half an hour ahead of pick-up for $100.

Most groups board at King St Wharf in the CBD or at Rose Bay, and Balmain, Lavender Bay, Mosman Bay, Rushcutters Bay and Woolloomooloo are also available. Pick-up and drop-off aren't possible at Campbells Cove in The Rocks, Commissioners Steps at Circular Quay or Double Bay. Watsons Bay depends on the weather and is best avoided for larger groups. Wharf fees are $50 per wharf.
