About Ocean Blue

Ocean Blue is a 46-foot Riviera Platinum 40 kept in excellent order all year, and she's sized for groups of up to 16 who want a private yacht on Sydney Harbour without paying for a much bigger boat. Up top, the flybridge has cushioned seating and the best views on board. Downstairs, the main saloon has leather lounges around a dining table, with a fully equipped galley and a bathroom close by. There's a BBQ for guests to use, a stereo you can plug your phone into, and a TV with a DVD player. When it's time to get in the water, the swim platform has a ladder for easy access, and a stand-up paddleboard is included. An inflatable tender with an outboard motor travels with the boat too. Catering and drinks packages are available, or you can bring your own for a flat fee.

Pricing

Ocean Blue is priced at $450 per hour year-round, from January to December, with a minimum charter of 3 hours. Public holidays and special event dates are quoted on request. Wharf fees are $60 per wharf, rising to $200 for Manly Wharf. Bringing your own food and/or drinks adds a $350 flat fee, which covers use of the crockery and cutlery. An $800 deposit secures the booking and counts towards the total, the balance is due 10 days before the charter, and a $500 damage bond is paid before the cruise and returned afterwards.

Food

Two catered menus are available. The BBQ buffet at $30 per person covers sausages, finger lime-infused chicken, a mushroom ratatouille, Moroccan chickpea salad, lemon myrtle smashed potatoes, rainbow slaw, a garden salad and bread rolls, with most dishes gluten free. The informal buffet at $56 per person starts with an antipasto platter on arrival, followed by four salads, a choice of two BBQ skewers (Moroccan chicken, beef fillet or ocean trout), sourdough with butter, chutneys and Australian cheeses. You can also bring your own food for the $350 BYO fee, which includes crockery and cutlery, and there's a galley and BBQ on board for guests to use.

Beverages

Drinks packages are charged per person, per hour: juice and soft drinks at $3.50 (excluding energy drinks and lemon, lime and bitters), the Diamond package at $11.50 with South Australian wines, French sparkling, Pure Blonde and Furphy, and the Corporate package at $16.50, which adds spirits including Jim Beam, Bundaberg Rum, vodka, Scotch, Bacardi and gin. BYO drinks are welcome for the $350 flat BYO fee, cups are provided, and you'll need to bring your own ice.

Most groups board at King Street Wharf in the CBD. The other pick-up points are Pirrama Park, where Harris Street ends in Pyrmont, Rose Bay Ferry Wharf, Double Bay Wharf, Casino Wharf, Walsh Bay and Towns Place East. You can ask for a different Sydney Harbour wharf, which may carry an extra cost. Each wharf costs $60, or $200 for Manly Wharf.
