About Crystal Swan Cruises
Crystal Swan is a large, fully enclosed function vessel that departs from Jetty 5 at Barrack Square in the Perth CBD. Four Perth locals bought the boat in 2009, restored it, and have since given the interior a full refit, finished with a chandelier at the entrance. The cabin is temperature controlled year round, with an outside deck for guests who want the breeze. The usual route passes beneath the Narrows Bridge and the old brewery building on its way west into Matilda Bay, then on past the university and the Royal Perth Yacht Club towards Canning Bridge before turning back to the city. Kings Park and the skyline stay in view most of the way. With three hulls and plenty of weight, the boat sits very steadily on the river. The vessel takes up to 216 guests for a standing cocktail event across both decks, 170 for a seated dinner over two levels, or 100 seated on a single level. Food comes from the onboard commercial galley, and menus can be tailored to dietary needs. An outside caterer is allowed if they are a registered business, with a galley fee charged. Weddings, engagements and anniversaries are a large part of the calendar, along with 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th birthdays, school formals and end-of-year cruises. Companies book it for sundowners, incentive dinners, daytime meetings and Christmas functions. An event coordinator stays aboard for the whole night, and guests can use the in-house sound system or bring a DJ or band.

Frequently asked questions
How many guests can Crystal Swan Cruises take?
A standing cocktail event can hold up to 216 people across both decks. Seated dinners take about 100 on one level, or up to 170 when both levels are used.
How long is a typical Crystal Swan charter?
The standard booking is a three-hour cruise within a four-hour package, which gives guests time to board and leave comfortably. Extra cruising hours can be added.
Can we bring our own drinks on board?
No, BYO drinks are not allowed. Drinks can be arranged as a cash bar, a master tab, or a standard or premium beverage package, with both bars open on the night.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
Rain is not a problem because the cabin is fully enclosed. If winds reach 30 knots, marine safety rules keep the boat at the jetty and the event carries on there.
Is the Crystal Swan wheelchair accessible?
Not fully. The operator advises the boat is not wheelchair friendly and has no accessible toilet, although some guests using wheelchairs have attended past events.
