About Urban Jungle Indoor Rock Climbing
Urban Jungle Indoor Rock Climbing is a climbing centre on Solomon Road in Jandakot that covers lead, bouldering, speed and top rope climbing in one building. Routes are reset regularly and graded from beginner to expert. There are auto-belay lines for climbing without a partner and a separate bouldering area for shorter, harder problems. Group and birthday bookings run for two hours, and each includes harness and shoe hire, harnesses for the adults belaying, a personalised induction and a picnic-style table kept for the group. Party sizes depend on age: up to 12 little climbers aged 4 to 7, up to 16 children aged 8 to 11, and up to 25 people aged 12 and over. Climbers under 12 need an adult from their own group to belay them, belayers are not charged, and groups are free to bring or order in their own food. Sports clubs, Scouts, youth groups and workplaces book the same format, which the centre suggests for team building and end-of-season celebrations. Group rates need two weeks' notice, with a $100 deposit holding the date.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can come to a party or group booking?
Limits depend on age. Groups of 4 to 7 year olds are capped at 12 climbers, 8 to 11 year olds at 16, and climbers aged 12 and over at 25. Groups under 12 people can still book but are charged the 12-person minimum.
Do we need adults to belay the kids?
Yes. Every climber under 12 needs an adult belayer from your group, and the centre recommends at least one adult for every two children. Belayers get a harness and are not charged.
Can we bring food and a birthday cake?
Yes. Groups are encouraged to bring their own food or order something in, and a picnic-style table seating about 8 adults or 12 small children is reserved for you. Coffee is available for the adults.
How far ahead do we need to book?
Group pricing needs at least two weeks' notice. A $100 deposit secures the date, $50 of which is non-refundable, and the rest is paid on the day based on how many people climbed.
What do we need to do before the session?
Every new climber must complete the online safety waiver in advance, and the organiser sends a guest list with first and last names before the day. There is 10 to 15 minutes either side of the two hours for setting up and packing down.
