About Portside Boulders Osborne Park
Portside Boulders Osborne Park sits on Walters Drive and is one of four locally owned Portside gyms around Perth. It hosts West Coast Blocs, the brand's annual bouldering competition, so the walls are set for everyone from first-timers to competitive climbers. The gym also runs yoga and strength classes and has a resident climbing physio on set days. Bouldering means climbing shorter walls over thick padded mats without ropes or harnesses, so a group of beginners picks it up quickly. Social sessions suit workplace wind-ups, sports teams and casual crews of six or more aged 16 and over. Each booking includes gym entry, rental shoes and chalk, and a safety induction. Groups wanting more structure can add an hour with a Portside coach who teaches technique and runs mini competitions, after which the group is free to keep climbing. A food option adds half a pizza each and free hot drinks from the on-site cafe. Bookings are requests made at least seven days ahead and are confirmed once the team agrees the date and numbers, and the gym does not take party bookings of any kind.

Frequently asked questions
How many people do we need for a group booking?
The minimum is six people, all aged 16 or over. Pricing is tiered for groups of 6 to 10, 11 to 20 and 21 to 30, and groups of 31 or more are quoted separately.
Does anyone in our group need climbing experience?
No. Every social session starts with a safety induction and an introduction to the space, and the walls carry problems for all levels. Adding an instructed hour gives beginners a coach to teach the basics.
Can we have food at the session?
Yes. The instructed session with food adds half a pizza per person from the on-site cafe, free hot drinks during the visit and 20 per cent off anything else bought at the cafe that day.
Can we book Portside Boulders for a birthday party?
No. Group sessions are set up for work teams, sports clubs and social groups, and the gym does not accept bookings for parties of any kind.
How do bookings work?
Groups submit a booking request at least seven days ahead. It is not confirmed until the Portside team gets in touch to agree the date, time and group details.

My favourite climbing gym out of the Portside group. Staff are friendly and helpful, routes are regularly changed and updated. Highly recommend the membership for anyone looking to climb regularly

I soooooo badly want to give these guys a 5 star rating but the 1:1 parent to under 16 supervision rule is ridiculous. When I went don’t get me wrong every single other thing is perfect and amazing. But the fact that my…

ATTENTION SINGLE PARENTS As of May 2026, this gym's new policy requires a one-adult-to-one-child ratio. In reality, this means that single parents with multiple children are effectively shut out of the gym. My family h…
