About Middle Bar @ Kinselas Hotel
At Kinselas Hotel on Bourke Street, Middle Bar is shaped by two things: a long marble counter running the length of the room, and big windows that bring in plenty of daylight, which is rare in a bar designed for parties after dark. The floors are dark hardwood, the brick arches are left bare, and the walls are simply painted, with timber detailing. Recessed round coffers in the ceiling and a red-carpeted stair up to the next level add real character. Sound comes through fixed speakers on a built-in PA, and outside DJs or your own playlists are fine provided they stay inside the venue's noise limits. When it's time to dance, part of the room is cleared. Capacity is 150 standing or 40 seated, and there's Wi-Fi, air conditioning and accessible toilets on site. Kinselas has been part of Darlinghurst for a long time, and its party packages make the most of the balcony views.
