Clear allEnd-of-year parties south of the city don't have to compete with the CBD for December dates. Between Mascot, Banksmeadow, Kogarah, Banksia, Hurstville and the Georges River, a team can choose a rooftop, a garden, a leagues club, a pub or a waterfront pavilion closer to where most staff live.
The decision usually turns on size and tone: a small department dinner, a whole-company celebration, or drinks that roll on into a late night.
How the south's venues line up for a work Christmas:
Budgets run from canapé packages at Humphrey's Hotel, from $35 per person, to a garden event at Will & Mike's, from $2,000 minimum spend.

St. George Leagues Club's Grange takes up to 300 standing, and Rocksia Hotel's Lounge in Banksia holds 80 to 200. Humphrey's Hotel and Will & Mike's each take up to 250 standing, while South Sydney Graphic Arts Club holds up to 170 across its Restaurant and Terrace, with no room hire charge (conditions apply). On the river, Bass & Flinders Pavilion manages 150 at a canapé party or 120 at tables.
Port Private Dining @ The Kyle Bay takes 30 at one table. Humphrey's Hotel lets a group of up to 50 share The Quad without booking it exclusively, and UB Karaoke's VIP room fits up to 30.
The Branksome's rooftop catering covers halal, kosher and gluten-free menus plus a wide vegan range. Will & Mike's kitchen offers halal, kosher, vegan and gluten-free options too.
Yes. Bass & Flinders Pavilion is run by Bass & Flinders Cruises and offers a private charter cruise before or after an event at Sans Souci Wharf.
