About Team Fun
Team Fun is an event company with its office in Surry Hills that stages clue-driven races and group games around Sydney and other Australian cities. Its best-known format borrows from the TV series The Amazing Race: after a short briefing, the group splits into small teams, each gets a race pack, and they open their first route envelope to find out where to head. Checkpoints along the way set puzzles, light physical games and creative tasks that suit most fitness levels, and teams can play Roadblock, U-Turn, Fast Forward or Face Off cards to get ahead or hold up a rival. Sydney routes commonly run through the CBD, Circular Quay, The Rocks and Darling Harbour, and Bondi and Parramatta are options too. A standard event takes about 2.5 hours including the briefing and results, and covers roughly 3 km on foot, though races can be shortened, stretched to a full day or rebuilt around public transport, bikes or cars. Teams of three to six work best. Other hunt-style formats include Spy Race, Mystery Race and Pirates Treasure, and a Christmas edition adds festive challenges for end-of-year parties. The race can start at your office, a park or a restaurant and finish at a pub, which Team Fun can book and keep secret until the final clue gives it away. Winners receive medals, and the lowest-scoring team gets its moment too. Each event is quoted to suit the group, and a 25% deposit holds the date. If rain threatens, the team watches the forecast from a week out and can postpone or move things indoors. It suits corporate teams and private groups alike; just bring comfortable shoes.

What is the minimum group size for a Team Fun race?
Races can run with as few as two people, though Team Fun suggests at least six so you can field two teams of three. There is no real upper limit, and it has hosted races for more than 800 people.
How long does the Amazing Race take?
The standard event runs about 2.5 hours: around 15 minutes of briefing, 1.5 to 2 hours of racing, then the results. It can be trimmed to 1.5 hours or extended to a half day, full day or multi-day adventure.
How much walking is involved?
A standard walking route covers about 3 km with breaks at checkpoints, so wear comfortable shoes rather than heels. Low-impact and wheelchair-accessible versions can be arranged.
What happens if it rains?
Team Fun keeps an eye on the forecast from a week before. You can race in light rain, postpone at no cost when you agree to it a day or more in advance, or switch to an indoor format.
