Bargain Party Hire, which trades as B & I Party Hire Sydney, has been hiring out party equipment from Sydney's south-west for more than 25 years. The warehouse and showroom is at Chullora, with a second site on Kennedy Street at Panania open by appointment, and the team delivers Sydney-wide. The range is built to cover a whole event rather than one part of it: marquees, tables, chairs, linen, dance floors, glow and bar furniture, ottomans, wine barrels, heaters, bollards, jumping castles, slushie and fairy floss machines and catering equipment. Anything not listed can be sourced through their network of other party hire suppliers. Furniture is the deepest part of the catalogue. Chairs run from stacking Pipee plastic chairs through Gladiator, Chanel and Tiffany styles in gold, silver, white and clear, with kids sizes in the same shapes. Tables cover 1.8m and 2.4m trestles, 5ft and 180cm rounds and 90cm Le Cafe tables, dressed with black or white cloths and Lycra bar socks. Dance floors and event flooring come in black plywood or black and white plastic, from 4m x 4m up to 8m x 18m. Illuminated bars, bar tables, stools, cubes, benches and glow numbers zero to nine cover the lit side of a party. Marquees span 3m x 3m to 8m x 18m in white or clear, in pop-up, spring-top and framed styles, and the team handles delivery, set-up on the day and take-down afterwards. How much does it cost to hire from them?
Each item is priced individually for the hire period on their website, so you can add things to a cart and see the total. Plastic stacking chairs start at $1 and Tiffany chairs at $5, trestle tables start at $10 and 180cm rounds are $20, and tablecloths run $12 to $18. Marquees start at $165 for a 3m x 6m pop-up and reach $1,500 for a 6m x 18m white. Dance floors start at $270, jumping castles are $180 to $350, and a fairy floss machine is $80. Discounts are offered on corporate functions and large orders.
Which parts of Sydney do they deliver to?
Sydney-wide. The warehouse is at Chullora, and they have written up their service across the Eastern Suburbs, Bankstown and the Canterbury area, Liverpool, Campbelltown, Blacktown, Parramatta, Castle Hill, Penrith and the Northern Beaches including Palm Beach. Deliveries are scheduled so the hire goods arrive before the event starts and are collected after it, and same-day collection can be arranged for events held at parks and beaches.
Do they put the marquee up, or do I?
They do it. For marquee hire the team delivers, sets the marquee up on the day of the party or event, then takes it down and takes it away once the event is over. They also offer free advice on which of their four marquee types suits a given site, since spring-top marquees can go on any surface while peg and pole marquees need grass.
How do I book and pay?
Orders can be placed through the website, or you can call or email to talk through what you need and get a quote. All bookings have to be confirmed and paid by direct bank transfer into their business account. The Chullora warehouse and showroom can be visited, and the Panania site is open by appointment.
