Marquee Eventz is a small Sydney hire company whose team carries more than twenty years in the event industry between them, working from Campsie in the inner south west. Marquees are the core of the business: curved roof structures on steel or aluminium frames, which shed water well and give extra internal height; framed marquees that carry their own load without centre poles, so the floor stays clear; and spring tops with an arched peaked roof, which throw more shade and suit daytime events. Everything that goes under the roof is hired from the same catalogue rather than subcontracted out. Sizes run from 2.5m wide up to 25m, built in 3m or 5m bay increments with a standard 2.4m eave height, so length is adjusted to the guest count rather than the whole structure being swapped. Their published size chart maps that out: a 6m x 6m takes 54 standing or 32 on round tables, a 10m x 10m takes 150 standing or 89 seated, and a 15m x 30m holds 675 standing or 400 seated. Roofs come in white, clear, black or a custom colour, with white, black or clear walls, and silk lining, lighting and printed logos can be added. Installation is where the flexibility shows. Marquees are pegged or weighted on grass, concrete or other solid ground, with carpet under the weights where a surface needs protecting, and scaffold flooring lets them build over uneven or sloping sites, tennis courts and swimming pools. Where can the marquee be set up?
On grass, concrete or other solid ground, either pegged or weighted, with carpet placed under the weights where the surface needs protecting. Do they deliver and set up, and how far do they travel?
Yes. Delivery and pick-up are scheduled before the event so there is time to set up, and their crew handles installation and removal of the structure. Collecting the order yourself is offered as an alternative on smaller hires. They work across Sydney and throughout New South Wales from their Campsie base.
How far ahead should I book?
As early as you can. Their guidance is that popular dates, weekends and peak season book out first, and that several months ahead is sensible for larger or more complex events. They also suggest checking with the venue or council about permits, since some sites restrict temporary structures.
