About Trace of Magic
Trace of Magic is Tracy Tam, a full-time comedy magician based in Chatswood who has done more than 1,000 shows. Her family show Why Kids Are Smarter Than Adults won Most Popular Show of the Year at the 2016 Melbourne Magic Festival. She has been the resident magician for TVB Australia and was one of the Australian magicians in David Copperfield's Project Magic in 2018 and 2019. Her style is modern and interactive rather than rabbits and top hats, and she leans hard on comedy. There are four main ways to book her. Roving close-up magic has her working the room with borrowed objects, which suits arrivals and cocktail hours. The parlour show is a tailored comedy set for smaller functions that doesn't need a stage, usually 20 to 30 minutes. The comedy stage show is for bigger rooms such as conferences, gala dinners and award nights, usually 30 to 40 minutes, and can work in your company's message or theme. She can also MC the whole night as a magician host in English or Cantonese, with some Mandarin. For companies she runs a team-building workshop, at a venue or in your office, where staff learn simple tricks and misdirection and then perform in small groups. She also gives keynote talks that use magic to make a point about mindset. Past clients include Telstra, Optus, Mitre 10, Crown and The Grounds of Alexandria.
