About The BlackTies
The BlackTies are a team of professional magicians based in the Sydney CBD who have been performing at events since 2014. Rather than a single act, it is a group of individual performers with different specialities: one focuses on mind reading and influence, another on reworking classic illusions, another on more artistic sleight of hand. That lets them match a magician to the style of your event, and they say they perform at around 300 events a year. There are three main formats. Roving magic has a magician moving from group to group during drinks or networking, performing close-up card, coin and fire magic and mind reading to break the ice. Table magic suits seated events: a magician sits with a table of about ten guests and performs a short show, approaching tables that aren't mid-meal so it fills the gaps between courses. The stage show combines storytelling, comedy and audience participation, with lights and music, and is designed as a centrepiece for end-of-year parties, conferences and award nights. They also run a virtual magic show online for remote teams. You can book a single magician for a smaller party or several for a large event. The process starts with an enquiry, then a call to talk through the plan and a tailored quote. They work corporate events, weddings, birthday parties, hens and bucks parties and private celebrations across Sydney. Their office on George Street is by appointment only.
