Days Like These Events is a planning and coordination business started in Sydney by Em Lowndes, who worked as a sales and events manager before setting up on her own. With close to a decade in the industry and more than 700 weddings behind them, the team now runs a Sydney base and a second one on the Gold Coast. Weddings are the bulk of their work, but their planning and coordination services also cover social events, milestone celebrations, anniversaries, Christmas parties, corporate events and celebrations of life. There are two main ways to book them. Full planning, from $3,250, brings the team in from the start and guides you through the whole process. On-the-day coordination, from $2,200, suits hosts who have already booked their venue and suppliers: a coordinator joins roughly eight weeks before the event, takes over the plan and runs the day. The same team also offers photography from $2,900, and event and bar staff from $95 per hour when booked alongside a coordinator. You can book one service or combine several. Before signing on, clients get a free video call; in-person meetings follow once the date is locked in. A deposit secures the booking, ranging from $500 to 25 per cent depending on the services and how far away the date is, and you receive the invoice and terms before you commit. They cap how many events they take on a weekend, so popular dates fill early. The team travels anywhere, with travel fees possible. They also work as venue managers, and their regular Sydney venues include Estate Vaucluse, Pasadena, Manly Pavilion, Dunes Palm Beach and Bombora Pavilion.
