About Discount Party Hire
Discount Party Hire is a family owned and run business of 40 years, working from a Cabarita depot in Sydney's inner west with a second base at Fairy Meadow near Wollongong. The core of the business is free-standing marquees, available in 4m, 6m and 10m spans with white or clear walls, and sized from a 4m x 4m up to a 6m x 30m that seats 200 at round tables or 300 theatre style. Around the marquees they hire the rest of the setup: trestle and round tables, white plastic, folding and tiffany chairs, linen, crockery, glassware and cutlery, plus awnings and fete gear for festivals. Prices are published size by size rather than quoted blind. A 4m x 4m marquee is $550 and a 4m x 16m $2,200. In the 6m span, a 6m x 6m for 40 guests is $950 and a 6m x 15m for 100 guests is $2,350, with silk lining and non-slip timber flooring priced separately for every size. Ten metre spans start at $2,553 for a 10m x 10m. Chandeliers for 10m marquees run from $138 for one to $690 for five, and dance floors are $35 a square metre or priced by fixed size from $483. Packages bundle the lot for 40, 60, 80 or 100 guests in either a sit-down or cocktail format, from $1,099. Each takes in the marquee, lighting, chairs or bar tables, cloths, bar socks and beer bins. An ultimate wedding package for 100 covers a lined marquee with timber floors and clear walls, an attached bar marquee, a catering marquee, full place settings, glassware, a dance floor and a cool room, with delivery, installation and pick-up included. Between May and August, marquee bookings come with heaters at no charge.

What does a marquee cost?
Four metre free-standing marquees with a white roof and white walls are $550 for a 4m x 4m, $1,100 for a 4m x 8m, $1,650 for a 4m x 12m and $2,200 for a 4m x 16m. In the 6m span a 6m x 6m is $950, a 6m x 9m $1,360, a 6m x 12m $1,900 and a 6m x 15m $2,350, rising to $5,900 for a 6m x 30m. Ten metre spans start at $2,553 for a 10m x 10m and $4,002 for a 10m x 15m.
How many guests fit under each marquee?
A 6m x 6m takes 40 seated at either round or rectangular tables, or 60 theatre style. A 6m x 12m takes 80 seated or 120 theatre, a 6m x 18m 120 seated or 180 theatre, and a 6m x 30m 200 seated or 300 theatre. In the 10m span, a 10m x 10m seats 90, a 10m x 15m 160, a 10m x 20m 210 and a 10m x 25m 270.
What is included, and what costs extra?
The quoted marquee price covers the structure with a white roof and white or clear walls. Silk ceiling lining and non-slip timber flooring are priced separately for each size, so a 6m x 6m is $253 for lining and $931.50 for flooring, and a 6m x 15m is $690 and $2,359.80. Chandeliers for 10m marquees run $138 for one up to $690 for five. Dance floors are $35 a square metre, or from $483 for a 3m x 4m up to $1,449 for a 6m x 6m.
Can I hire the tables, chairs and tableware as well?
Yes, and most customers do. White plastic chairs are $3.30, kids tiffany chairs $4.00, white folding chairs $7.00, white tiffany chairs with a cushion $10.00 and bar stools $11.00. Trestle tables are $20.00 for a 1.8m and $23.00 for a 2.4m, 1.8m rounds are $25.00 and bar tables $33.00. Cloths run $20.00 to $27.60, chair covers and bows $7.00, napkins $3.00. Crockery and glassware are $1.15 a piece, cutlery $1.00 and cups and saucers $2.50.

Packages for 40 to 100 guests start at $1,099 for a 40 guest cocktail setup and $1,161 for a 40 guest sit-down. Book a marquee between May and August and heaters are included at no extra charge under the winter offer.
