About Ace Party Hire

Ace Party Hire and Events runs from 51 Barry Avenue at Catherine Field and has been hiring out marquees and party equipment for more than twenty-five years, trading for part of that time as Bargo Party Hire. The service area takes in south-west Sydney, Camden, Narellan, Liverpool, Macarthur, Penrith and western Sydney, and reaches through Picton and Bargo to Mittagong and Moss Vale in the Southern Highlands. Weddings, birthdays, engagements, corporate functions and community events all draw on the same catalogue. Marquees come in four builds. Freestanding clearspan and pagoda structures need no pegs and sit on grass or hard surfaces, in sizes from 6m x 3m up to 10m x 15m. Pop tops run from 3m x 3m to 6m x 15m for smaller jobs. Peg and pole marquees go on lawn only and scale from a 6m x 6m that seats 40 up to a 9m x 27m that seats 250 at long tables. Three side walls are included in the marquee price, and arched or plain window walls are $50 per 6m. Packages bundle a marquee with a furniture or hospitality kit for a five per cent saving, and the photo booth range covers a mirror booth and a signature booth with unlimited prints, a USB copy and an attendant. Most of the range is priced openly rather than quoted. Delivery is to the front door or garage, with a further fee if goods have to be carried past that point. Cash deposits apply to crockery, cutlery and glassware, and cooking equipment needs to be returned clean. Marquees and large functions need a 20 per cent deposit to hold the date. The office is open Monday to Friday, and visits to Catherine Field are by appointment.

Ace Party Hire publishes a full price list. Hospitality packages are $300 for 50 guests, $450 for 75 and $600 for 100, each covering plates, glasses, cutlery and linen. Furniture packages are $600 for 50 guests, $700 for 75, $800 for 100 and $1,200 for 150, covering bar tables, bar stools, wedding chairs and round or trestle tables. Individual hire includes stacking chairs from $2.00, gladiator folding chairs $6.50, children's chairs $1.00, bar stools $7.00, a 1.8m trestle $10.00, a 2.4m trestle $13.00, a 6 foot round table $18.00 and bar tables $25.00. Tablecloths are $11.00 to $12.50, cutlery $0.50 an item, and crockery and glassware around $0.80 an item. Area heaters are $75.00 and bistro heaters $85.00, both including gas. Kitchen gear runs from a $12.00 urn to a $180.00 gas warming oven, with a popcorn cart at $250.00 and a fairy floss cart at $169.00. Lighting and effects include a smoke machine at $40.00, a large mirror ball at $35.00 and a marquee light at $45.00, and a PA system is $75.00 with a karaoke and jukebox machine at $220.00. Marquee sizes are listed without prices, so structures are quoted. Photo booth packages are $750 and $850 for the mirror booth and $700 and $800 for the signature booth.

Equipment & Service Details

The hire range covers clearspan, pagoda, pop top and peg and pole marquees with three side walls included, plus marquee flooring and dance floors, tables and chairs, linen, cutlery, crockery, glassware and table accessories, gas heaters, kitchen and catering equipment, lighting, fog and bubble machines, a PA system and photo booths. Marquees are delivered and installed by the crew and taken down at the end of the hire, and photo booth packages include setup, pack down and an on-site attendant. Peg and pole marquees need lawn with a metre of pegging clearance on every side, and the hirer is asked to flag underground services first. Standard cartage covers delivery to the front door or garage, with an additional fee for longer carries or difficult access. Cash deposits are required on crockery, cutlery and glassware, and cleaning deposits on barbecues, spits and gas roasters; these are refunded once the goods are checked back in by the driver or yard staff. Cooking equipment, cutlery, crockery and glassware all have to come back clean or a cleaning charge applies, and linen needs no washing but attracts a charge for candle wax or heavy staining. Linen is to be pre-ordered a week ahead. Breakages are charged at the replacement value of the item, and the marquee is not to be moved or altered once installed.

What size marquee do I need for my guest numbers?

The peg and pole sizes are published with capacities: 6m x 6m seats 40 or 60 standing, 6m x 12m seats 80, 9m x 13.5m seats 130, and 9m x 27m seats 250 at long tables or 350 standing. Other sizes are available on request. When measuring the yard, allow a metre of clear space on each side for pegging, so a 6m x 6m marquee needs an 8m x 8m area.

What is included in the marquee price?

Three standard side walls come with the marquee, covering the two short sides and one long side. Special sidewalls with arched or plain windows are $50 per 6m. Flooring, dance floors, lighting and heating are hired separately. Peg and pole marquees go on grass only and need an area clear of trees and clotheslines, with no streamers or cooking inside.

How do payment and cancellation work?

Payment is cash on delivery, or by card or bank transfer over the phone before delivery. Marquees and large functions need a 20 per cent deposit to secure the booking. Cancel with more than two weeks notice and the deposit is not refunded but can move to a rescheduled date; inside two weeks but more than 48 hours, half the total is payable; inside 48 hours, the full amount is payable.
