About Coast

Coast is a 21-metre (65-foot) premium function vessel built from modern materials for a stable, comfortable ride. She takes up to 150 guests for a cocktail-style event or 80 for a buffet, spread across four indoor and outdoor entertaining and dining areas that work in any weather. Wrap-around decks give guests full 360-degree views of the harbour. Music is taken seriously on board. A dedicated dance floor sits alongside a Bose sound system running on brand new BluOS controllers, amps and speakers, and you can connect by Bluetooth or use the boat's Spotify account. A cordless microphone is included for speeches, TVs handle presentations, and a DJ is recommended if you want the dance floor full. Food is prepared by an onboard chef, with canape, buffet and platter menus, and drinks come from beverage packages or a bar on consumption. Note that stiletto heels aren't permitted on board.

Hourly rates vary by season and day. January to March: $1,350 per hour Friday and Saturday (4-hour minimum, $14,000 minimum spend) and $1,250 Sunday to Thursday (2-hour minimum, 30 guests minimum). April, May, September and October: $1,300 per hour Friday and Saturday (4-hour minimum, 30 guests minimum) and $1,250 Sunday to Thursday (2-hour minimum, 30 guests minimum). June to August: $1,100 per hour on Saturdays (4-hour minimum) and $1,050 Sunday to Friday (2-hour minimum, 30 guests minimum). November: $1,350 per hour Friday and Saturday (4-hour minimum, $15,000 minimum spend) and $1,250 Sunday to Thursday (3-hour minimum, $8,000 minimum spend). December: $1,500 per hour Thursday to Saturday (4-hour minimum, $17,000 minimum spend) and $1,300 Sunday to Wednesday (4-hour minimum, $14,000 minimum spend).

Mandatory extras are a chef fee ($550 for 10 to 30 guests, $950 for 31 to 50, $1,100 for 51 or more) and wait staff at $300 each, one per 10 guests (from 3 staff for 30 to 40 guests, or 4 with a buffet, up to 8 staff for 121 to 150). Wharf fees total $200 ($100 per wharf), and a $400 security fee applies for some occasions. A $2,000 deposit confirms the booking, the balance is due 14 days before, and a $1,000 refundable bond applies.

Food

Catering is prepared on board by a chef, with the chef fee charged on every charter. The canape menu starts from $55 per person, the buffet menu from $70 per person, and a platter menu is priced per platter. Buffet service seats up to 80 guests, and table dining can be set up across the entertaining areas.

Beverages

Beverage packages have a 3-hour minimum. The Captain's Selection is $18 per person, per hour, with De Bortoli sparkling, white, rose and red wines, beers including Peroni, Hahn Super Dry and Victoria Bitters, and bottled soft drinks and juices. The Commodore's Selection is $20 per person, per hour, stepping up to Yarra Valley and King Valley wines, Prosecco, a wider range of beers and ciders, and non-alcoholic sparkling. Spirits can be added at $20 per person, per hour for house spirits or $30 for top shelf, and a non-alcoholic package is $7 per person, per hour. A bar on consumption menu is also available as a bar tab or pay as you go.

Wharfs & Availability

Coast is available every day. The minimum hire is 4 hours on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 hours Sunday to Thursday, except in November and December. Preferred Saturday slots are 12pm to 4pm and 6pm to 10pm.

Pick-up is from King Street Wharf in the CBD or Casino Wharf, with other Sydney Harbour wharves on request (fees may apply). Manly pick-ups are limited to 93 guests because of crossing regulations, and Coast can't service Kirribilli or Lavender Bay. Wharf fees total $200, at $100 per wharf.

On BYO charters, pre-loading is available up to an hour before departure, subject to availability.

What's the minimum charter length?

4 hours on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 hours Sunday to Thursday outside November and December. In November, weekday charters are a minimum of 3 hours, and in December every charter is at least 4 hours.

What does it cost?

The lowest rate is $1,050 per hour, Sunday to Friday from June to August. Peak Friday and Saturday rates run from $1,300 to $1,500 per hour, and some dates carry a minimum spend of $8,000 to $17,000. A chef fee and wait staff are mandatory on top of the hire rate.
