About Sunshine Coast Convention Centre
The Sunshine Coast Convention Centre is the events side of Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort on Ocean Drive, Twin Waters. Its rooms host conferences and exhibitions, but also gala dinners, charity balls, presentation nights, school formals, product launches and cocktail parties. The main room is the Minyama Ballroom, 1,600 square metres that seat 920 at banquet tables or hold 1,500 for cocktails. The Wandiny Room next door seats 600 or holds 1,000 standing, with its own bar and satellite kitchen, a full wall of windows and a terrace along its length. For mid-sized groups, the Mudjimba Room seats 210 and can be split into three, opening onto a terrace with tropical gardens and water features. Lily's on the Lagoon stands over the water on a private jetty, seating 180 or holding 250 for drinks, with a kitchen and culinary team of its own. The covered Arrivals Lounge outdoors takes up to 600 for cocktails or 240 seated. The resort's lawns, beaches, pool area and Sola Deck & Bar can be set up for outdoor events of up to 400 standing, and smaller rooms such as the Water Lily Room and Aqua Lounge & Bar suit groups of 20 to 130. Catering comes from the resort's own chefs, and drinks run on standard or premium packages of two to five hours for groups of 20 or more. The events team looks after AV, room set-up and on-site team-building activities, and guests can stay at the resort.
