Market Bistro is a European-style bistro on Market Lane, alongside its own bottle shop, the Market Wine Store. It opens daily from 11:30am, serving house-made pasta, dry-aged meats and local seafood. The private dining room sits next to the open kitchen, with a view into the stocked shelves of the wine store. It gives the group visual privacy from the main dining room while keeping the buzz of the bistro close by. The room seats 12 in comfort, and swapping in smaller timber bistro chairs takes it to 14. The minimum is around 10 guests, which makes it a natural fit for a small birthday dinner or a business meal. Groups choose a two-course menu at $95 per person or three courses from $110 per person. On Friday and Saturday nights, groups of 10 or more need to book the three-course menu. The wine list changes often and leans towards Australian and New Zealand producers. Bigger groups of 12 to 30 can instead book the long marble communal table in the bar area.
