About Altitude Nine
Altitude Nine occupies the top level of the Sunshine Coast City Hall building, on the corner of First Avenue and South Sea Islander Way in the Maroochydore City Centre. It is a hire-only event space owned and run by Sunshine Coast Council, with panoramic views across the coast to the Glass House Mountains. The room holds up to 180 guests for cocktails, 150 in theatre rows or 112 at long banquet tables. Alfresco breakout areas let guests step outside for the view between speeches or courses. Hire runs seven days a week between 6am and 10pm, so it works for a sunrise breakfast as well as a sunset reception. The venue takes private parties and weddings, corporate functions, conferences, networking events and Christmas parties. Pricing combines a venue fee with an experience spend. The venue fee pays for the room, staff time, cleaning, audio-visual gear and having your chosen layout put in place and cleared away afterwards, while the experience amount goes towards food, drinks, styling, entertainment or extras. The in-house events team shapes the hospitality around each booking rather than selling fixed menus, and can help with styling. Community groups and charities are offered discounted rates. Buses stop on First Avenue beside the building, and undercover paid parking is available in a multi-deck car park nearby.
