About Kawana Waters Hotel

Kawana Waters Hotel sits on Point Cartwright Drive in Buddina, right on the Kawana marina where the Mooloolah River meets the boat moorings. It is a working local pub with a bistro, a sports bar and a marina bar, and it sets aside parts of the venue for group celebrations. None of the areas are closed off as private rooms, so your group shares the pub's atmosphere while holding its own section. That suits relaxed birthdays, 21sts and work drinks where guests want a view of the water and a busy room around them. The deck has a 180-degree outlook over the marina and three marquee areas. Marquee One, at the southern end near the bar, holds up to 70 standing or 64 seated, Marquee Three takes up to 50 standing and Marquee Two suits smaller cocktail groups of around 25. Indoors, the Dining Hall beside the bi-fold doors holds up to 60 standing or 50 seated, and the Lounge near the gaming room entrance takes up to 50 seated. Two Balinese-style huts in the Punters Lounge each fit up to 16 guests standing. Food comes from the kitchen as share platters, canapé selections or a set menu served alternate drop. Drinks can run on a bar tab, settled before or after the event, or guests can buy their own at the bar, and the venue supplies its own house music.

Canapé packages are $20 per person for four pieces, $25 for six and $30 for eight, for groups of at least 20. The set menu is $61 per person for two courses and $71 for three, and includes table dressing.

Share platters cost $175 to $220 each. Area hire is free Monday to Thursday in the Lounge, Dining Hall and deck marquees, and $100 Friday to Sunday; the Bali huts are $50 each from Thursday to Sunday. A $200 deposit secures the booking, with any hire fee taken from it.

Food

Platters cover charcuterie, pastries, fried bites, seafood, pizza slabs, chicken skewers, vegetarian bites and a gluten-reduced selection. Canapés are chosen from warm and chilled lists, such as brisket sliders, prawn and chorizo skewers, natural oysters and arancini.

The set menu offers two choices per course served alternate drop, with dishes like eye fillet, Atlantic salmon and sticky date pudding. Vegan meals are available on request, and outside food is not allowed apart from a celebration cake.

Beverages

Hosts can set up a bar tab, paid in advance or settled at the end of the event, or let guests buy their own drinks at the bar. Outside alcohol is not permitted.

21st birthdays are welcome, though a refundable $100 security deposit may apply. For 18ths, the hotel only takes small dinner groups of 25 or fewer.
