About Function Room @ The Sands Tavern
The Sands Tavern is a relaxed local pub on Plaza Parade in Maroochydore, with a bistro, sports bar, beer garden and on-site parking. Its main events space is the Function Room, a private room set aside for celebrations and work gatherings. The room is bright and open, with large windows, round banquet tables and space to clear the floor for a standing crowd. It seats 100 guests or takes 150 cocktail-style, and comes with a projector and an in-house audio system for speeches, slideshows and presentations. For bigger groups the Function Room can be opened onto the Deck, a semi-private outdoor area right alongside it. Combined, the two spaces hold up to 230 guests, with formalities inside and room to mingle outdoors. Food comes from the tavern kitchen. Set menus are served alternate drop, at two courses for $50 per person or three courses for $65 per person, and shared platters range from Aussie party pies to charcuterie, cheese and vegan selections. Drinks can run on a timed package at standard, premium or deluxe level, on a bar tab with a limit you set, or as a cash bar where guests buy their own. Cocktails on arrival and a spirit upgrade can be added to a package. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and a cake can be brought in with no cakeage charge. Drinks packages run $43 to $70 per person on the standard list, $53 to $81 per person on premium and $66 to $93 per person on deluxe, depending on whether you book two, three or four hours.
Food
Platters include Aussie party food, yum cha, seafood, vegetarian, vegan, meat, charcuterie and cheese. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-conscious options are marked, and dietary needs can be noted when booking.
