About Sunshine Coast Sound
Sunshine Coast Sound is a Coolum-based AV hire business run by Jack Scandrett, a sound engineer with 17 years in touring productions and musical theatre. The gear is kept in Noosaville, and the team travels in its own van to venues, beaches and private properties along the coast and up into the hinterland. For weddings, the set-up usually starts with a battery-powered ceremony speaker, a headset or lapel mic for the celebrant and a wireless handheld for readings. The reception system then adds two speakers, a sub and microphones for speeches, with wireless uplights, festoon and a lit dance floor matched to your palette. Milestone birthdays, engagements and anniversaries get the same care on a smaller scale, from a simple speaker-and-mic kit to a full party system with lighting. Corporate clients book packages for presentations, conference days and gala presentation evenings, with projection, lectern and roving mics, and an engineer who stays on the desk. School formals, Christmas functions and theatre productions are covered too, including radio mic packages for school musicals. Most of the speakers are Meyer Sound and the wireless is Sennheiser. You can collect a dry hire kit from Noosaville and set it up yourself, or have it brought out, installed and tested for one flat charge. Quotes are itemised and include GST, with delivery and set-up built in. Send an enquiry with the date, venue and rough guest numbers to check availability.

Equipment & Service Details
Dry hire goes out with cables, stands and a power lead and is collected from Noosaville; delivery and set-up across the coast is one flat charge, and an operator can stay to run the event.
Frequently asked questions
Can we collect the gear and set it up ourselves?
Yes. Dry hire is collected from Noosaville and returned the morning after the event. The team shows you how everything connects before you leave, and asks for photo ID and a card on file rather than a bond.
What is included in the wedding ceremony package?
The $590 ceremony package covers a battery-powered speaker, a headset or lapel mic for the celebrant, and a wireless handheld for anyone giving a reading. Your playlist or musician is fed through it, and an operator does a sound-check and stays for the ceremony.
Will the sound work for a ceremony on the beach?
Yes. The ceremony system runs on batteries, so no generator is needed and nothing is cabled over the sand. Microphone choice and speaker placement are worked out to cope with coastal wind.
Can our DJ or band plug into the system?
Yes. The reception system has inputs set up for your DJ, band or laptop, and the team gets in touch with your musicians beforehand so the changeover runs smoothly.
Which parts of the Sunshine Coast do you cover?
The service area runs from Noosa down to Caloundra and inland to the hinterland, with Montville, Maleny, Flaxton and Yandina all regular venues. One flat charge covers delivery and set-up anywhere in that area.
