About Tipi Luxe
Tipi Luxe is a Sunshine Coast business run by Nicole and Joe that hires giant Nordic tipis as a weatherproof alternative to a standard marquee. Built from natural timber poles and earthy tan canvas, the tipis rise to 6.8 metres at the peak and go up for weddings, private parties, corporate functions and festivals. The tipis are flexible. With the sides lowered, a single tipi feels cosy and enclosed, which suits cooler months when paired with an open fireplace or gas heaters. With the sides raised, tipis can be joined in a range of floor plans to form one big covered room that makes the most of a view. As a guide, each one seats about 70 to 80 people at tables, and linked layouts can handle corporate events of 400 or more. Beyond the tipis, the team hires reclaimed Crow's Ash and Tallowood tables with matching benches, three-metre feasting tables, timber dance floors in three sizes, open fireplaces and woven tipi flooring. Lighting options include festoons criss-crossed through the ceiling, fairy lights wrapped around the brim and external festoons on tall bamboo poles, all low-power LED. Standard hire runs over three days, with the crew building before the event and packing down afterwards. Tipis can go up in a backyard, a paddock, on a hilltop or at established venues around Noosa, Yandina, Twin Waters, Maleny and Montville. Frequently asked questions
How many guests fit in one tipi?
As a guide, a single giant tipi seats about 70 to 80 people at tables or holds around 80 standing. Several tipis can be linked together for larger events.
How much space do the tipis need?
Each tipi measures about 10.3 metres across with its sides down and 13 metres with the sides raised. The total footprint depends on how many you link and the layout you pick.
How long is the hire period?
Hire normally covers three days. Single tipis are usually built the day before and multiple tipis two days before, then taken down a day or two later. Weekend or public holiday builds attract extra fees.
What happens if it rains?
The tipis are made to handle wet weather, so rain is not a problem unless the site floods. If strong winds are forecast, the crew may change the build timing or side set-up, so a sheltered backup spot is wise.
What should we check about our site?
Access has to suit 4WD vehicles towing long trailers, as the gear can weigh more than 3.5 tonnes. Level, well-drained ground clear of underground services is ideal, and nearby sites can get a free site visit.
