About Lisa Pearl Photography
Lisa Pearl is a wedding and family photographer who lives by the beach in Mooloolaba. Her wedding work centres on small weddings and elopements, photographed in a candid, unforced way that aims for pictures which still look right decades later. Her background is unusually creative. She studied film photography and painting at art school, then completed a degree in set and costume design and worked across film, theatre and television before shooting for several photography studios and starting her own business more than a decade ago. That training shows in how she reads light, colour and setting. On the day she avoids awkward set-ups and long posing sessions, preferring to let couples relax and enjoy their guests while she watches for natural moments. She describes herself as someone who laughs a lot, and there is a good chance she will be on the dance floor at some point with the camera still in hand. On the Sunshine Coast she photographs weddings around Noosa and Mooloolaba, at Yandina and in the hinterland at Montville and Maleny, and she also takes on family portraits and commercial and editorial shoots for local businesses and publications.
