About Mundaring Weir Hotel
Mundaring Weir Hotel was built in 1898 for the workers and sightseers who came to the weir, and it still sits in the state forest on Mundaring Weir Road. Today it runs a pub, a weekend café, an amphitheatre for summer concerts and a steady trade in weddings and private functions. The Duke and Duchess Dining Room is the main indoor space, finished in polished jarrah and stained glass with open fires in winter. It seats up to 95, and the ballroom next door gives guests room to dance after dinner. The Tree Tops sunroom and balcony look over the gardens and amphitheatre and suit cocktail-style drinks with a grazing table, or a small ceremony. In the warmer months the covered garden pergola takes up to 80 guests and has its own bar with four tap beers to choose from. For larger weddings, tables can spread across the pergola, the amphitheatre courtyard and the balcony decking, and the grounds are set up for crowds of several hundred. Corporate groups of up to 100 have the use of projectors and screens, microphones, lecterns, whiteboards and flip charts. The chef offers seated dining or canapés and will tailor a menu to the space and the occasion. Private bar set-ups and bar tabs can be arranged, but BYO food and drinks are not allowed apart from a celebration cake.
