About Araluen Botanic Park

Araluen Botanic Park sits on Croyden Road in Roleystone, in a sheltered Perth Hills valley. Around 14 hectares of cultivated gardens are surrounded by native bushland, with creeks, waterfalls, heritage stone paths and big seasonal displays of tulips and roses. The park hires out a set of outdoor locations for private events. The Rose Garden Gazebo, Mary Hargreaves Pergola and Roundhouse Lawn each take up to 100 guests, Bennet's Lawn takes 50 to 100, and Stinton Creek Lawn takes 50 to 150. The Amphitheatre has a wide tiered lawn looking over the old swimming pool and is used for larger gatherings. The Forest View Deck is the one location for wedding receptions and conference-style days, seating up to 200. Weddings are the main use, with ceremonies across the gardens and photos anywhere in the grounds. The park also hosts birthday parties, including 18ths, 21sts, 30ths, 40ths and 50ths, plus corporate functions, team-building days, client events and product launches. The park does not cater in-house. Hirers bring in their own caterers and suppliers, who complete a contractor induction first, and no BYO alcohol is allowed without the events team's approval. Daytime events run within the park's 9am to 4pm hours, while receptions on the deck run between 6pm and 10pm with an added security charge. Venue hire is not taken during August, September or the opening fortnight of October.

Pricing

Pricing for wedding packages sits in the park's wedding brochure, and other event hire is quoted on request. A non-refundable $100 administration fee is due when booking, along with a bond that is refunded under the contract terms.

Parking for guests is included in the hire fee. Deck receptions attract an extra security charge, and packing down past the agreed time costs extra.

Food

There is no in-house catering. Hirers choose their own caterer, whether a sit-down service, picnic-style food or food trucks, and each supplier completes the park's contractor induction.

Beverages

No BYO alcohol is allowed in the park. Drinks service for an event has to be arranged with the events team in advance.

Availability

Locations are booked with the park's event application form, followed by a hire contract, the $100 administration fee and a bond. Inductions for contractors run Tuesday to Friday, and site visits before booking are welcome.
