About Boronia Room @ The Lesmurdie Club
The Lesmurdie Club is a community club in Walliston, on the corner of Boronia Road and Lawnbrook Road East in the Perth Hills. It runs a bar and bistro for locals and hires out two areas for functions, the larger of which is the Boronia Room. The Boronia Room is a big, flexible hall that takes up to 300 people. It has a reception area at the entrance, a bar of its own for the event and separate toilets, including an accessible one. For entertainment there is a stage and a dance floor, plus an in-house lighting rig and a sound system. A ceiling projector with a drop-down screen covers speeches, slideshows and presentations. The room suits long banquet layouts or rounds of tables, and it has been set up for formal dinners as well as live bands. Hirers can arrive early to set up, and the club staff are glad to help with the room layout. All food for functions comes from the club's kitchen, The Rusty Fork, whose bistro menu mixes pub classics with Thai curries, soups and salads. The club holds a strict no-BYO rule for alcohol, so drinks come from the room's own bar. The hire fee for the Boronia Room is $500. Bar service is charged on top, and catering is quoted by the kitchen to suit the event.
