About Sherwood Receptions
Sherwood Receptions is a function venue at 1040 Somerton Road in Greenvale, set in a heritage-listed building that has stood for well over a century. It is run as a reception venue rather than a public restaurant, so every booking is a private event. The venue hosts wedding receptions, engagement celebrations and corporate galas, along with smaller, more intimate gatherings. Its look leans rustic and romantic, with timber beams, greenery and soft lighting through the main hall. The main hall has a high, open-beamed ceiling and a timber floor, and it can be dressed with round tables or long banquet rows. With a dance floor in place it seats 220 guests, and taking the dance floor out lifts that to 250. Outside, a paved courtyard and gardens surround the building. The courtyard works as a spot for an on-site ceremony, or simply as somewhere for guests to step out during the reception. The events team works with each client from the first consultation, helping shape the styling, layout and running of the day. Prices and menus are not published, so send an enquiry with your date and guest numbers for a tailored quote. The office opens on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 2pm, with Saturday meetings by appointment. If those times don't suit, the team can arrange an appointment outside office hours.

How many guests can Sherwood Receptions hold?
The main hall seats 220 guests when a dance floor is set up. Without the dance floor it can take up to 250 guests.
