About Jetboat Extreme
Jetboat Extreme has been running rides from Surfers Paradise since 2004. A trip takes 55 minutes all up, boarding to stepping off, and heads along the Nerang River to the Broadwater. Expect speeds of up to 80 km/h, sharp 360-degree spins and a good soaking. The route takes in Wave Break Island, South Stradbroke Island and the Seaway, with slower moments for waterfront homes and wildlife. Drivers keep the mood light and make plenty of jokes, which is a large part of why this works so well for a group. Life jackets, spray jackets, sunscreen and lockers are all provided, so there is very little to organise beyond turning up in clothes that can get wet. Past groups have included birthdays, bucks and hens parties, company team days and footy break-ups. A whole boat can be chartered, with 14-seat and 26-seat options on the price list. For work Christmas parties, there are packages that pair the ride with venue hire, food and drinks at the riverside Driftwood Social. Can our group have a jet boat to ourselves?
Yes. Private charters are offered, and the price list shows a 14-seat boat at $966 and a 26-seat boat at $1,690 for the group.
How long does a group ride take?
Allow 55 minutes in all, counting boarding and getting off. Arrive at least 15 minutes before departure, and allow time for a change of clothes if you have plans straight afterwards.
Is there a minimum age for riders?
Safety rules set the minimum age at 5, and the ride is not recommended for pregnant passengers. Mixed-age family groups are welcome once everyone meets that limit.
What does the Christmas party package include?
The Snack package at $100 a head combines the ride, 3 hours of venue hire, a snack box and 1.5 hours of standard drinks. The long lunch or dinner package at $174 a head adds a four-course meal and 4 hours of drinks.
Where do we board and is there parking?
Boarding is on Ferny Avenue in Surfers Paradise, behind Vibe Hotel and Driftwood Social. The car park under the Mantra Towers of Chevron, across from the boarding point, gives you two free hours.
