About GoBoat Gold Coast
GoBoat Gold Coast hires out electric picnic boats from the marina at Capri on Via Roma on the Isle of Capri. You drive the boat yourself, and nobody in the group needs a licence or any time on the water. Each boat seats up to 8 around a central table, under a shade canopy. The crew runs through safety, steering and the local cruising area before you head off, then the Nerang River is yours at an easy pace. Routes take in the Surfers Paradise towers, Q1, Home of the Arts and Cascade Gardens, depending on how long you book. An onboard QR code brings up a live map on your own phone, showing where you are and which areas are shallow or restricted. Groups are the main draw here. The operator takes bookings for birthday parties, along with team-building days, client events and corporate Christmas parties. A larger crew can book several boats, and groups of 16 or more should enquire so the team can coordinate departures. Food is up to you, which keeps the planning simple. The precinct has a Harris Farm Markets, a bottle shop, delis and bakeries, or you can pre-order a grazing box with a day's notice. Dogs are welcome and do not use up a seat, so send an enquiry to book.

How many people can come on a GoBoat Gold Coast boat?
Each standard boat legally carries 8 people, with children and babies counted in that number. Larger groups can book more than one boat, and groups of 16 or more should enquire so the team can help coordinate it.
Does anyone in our group need a boat licence?
No. Nobody needs a licence or earlier boating experience. Before departure the Gold Coast crew gives a safety briefing, shows you how to steer and explains the cruising area and any hazards.
Can we bring our own food and alcohol on board?
Yes, you can bring your own food, and alcohol is limited to 2 standard drinks for each person. The designated driver has to stay at 0.00% blood alcohol. Cups are not supplied, so pack your own and avoid glass where you can.
Can we swim or fish from the boat?
No. The hire does not allow swimming, jumping in, diving or fishing, and everyone stays on board while away from the dock. The boats are set up for cruising, picnics and socialising instead.
Where do we park and how do we find the dock?
Head to Capri on Via Roma and walk through to the marina end of the centre, where the team and boats are at the dock. The precinct has basement and above-ground parking, so ask the crew about free parking, and arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.
