About Mirage Boat Hire
Mirage Boat Hire has been running boats out of Main Beach for more than 25 years, with a fleet of 22 that stretches from small half cabins to a 45-guest party cruiser. For a celebration, the two skippered party boats are the ones to look at: Mirage Sun takes up to 20 people and Mirage 45 takes up to 45. A charter here is built around getting in the water rather than staying on deck. The skipper can pull up to the beach so guests climb down onto the sand, and Wave Break Island is the usual stop for a swim or a game of cricket. You can also fish, play your own music and cook on the barbecue while the boat cruises the Broadwater, or head along the Nerang River past Millionaires Mile. Bucks and hens groups get their own function packages, priced on application. Groups smaller than 20 can go on the single-level boat, and bucks groups are welcomed with a sausage sizzle while hens groups start with a cheese platter. Birthdays and corporate functions are quoted too, and the team will design a cruise around the event. Drinks are bring your own within the operator's limits, so read the terms before you shop: premix cans and unopened bottles are fine, while red wine and home mixes stay ashore. Food can be brought on board or catering arranged. At the end, guests can leave the boat at a spot of their choosing from Runaway Bay down to Surfers Paradise. How many guests fit on the Mirage Boat Hire party boats?
Mirage Sun carries up to 20 people and Mirage 45 carries up to 45. Bucks groups top out at 30 guys, and a separate private skippered charter boat takes up to 15.
Can we swim and get off the boat at the beach?
Yes. The boats can nose up to the sand at Wave Break Island so your group gets off without wading, then swim, fish or play beach cricket while the food and drinks come across.
What are the rules on bringing alcohol?
All alcohol is bring your own in sensible amounts. Beer, wine and premix cans or unopened spirits from a bottle shop are allowed, while red wine and home mixes are not, and intoxicated guests cannot board.
Do you take bucks and hens parties?
Yes, both have dedicated function packages priced on application, with cost varying by day and time. Bucks events finish by 7 pm, and groups under 20 can use the single-level boat.
Where do we board and can we be dropped elsewhere?
Boarding is at the Mariners Cove and Marina Mirage marina, C Jetty, on Seaworld Drive in Main Beach. A drop-off from Runaway Bay down to Surfers Paradise can be arranged when you book.
