Book A Hummer is a Sydney chauffeur business run by a family, hiring out stretch Hummers since 2002 from a showroom at Five Dock, about 8km from the CBD. The fleet is led by two H2 super-stretch Hummers, a 15 seater and a 17 seater, each longer than 8.5 metres. Behind them are a Chrysler 300C stretch for 12, a Mercedes S-Class super stretch for 10, a Cadillac Escalade for six, Mercedes and Chrysler sedans, Mercedes convertibles, an Audi Q7 and a Maserati Quattroporte. The business is accredited with the NSW Department of Transport under number 8025, and its own chauffeurs drive its own vehicles instead of subcontracting jobs. Prices aren't listed. Each quote depends on how many hours you want, the pick-up and drop-off points and how many are travelling, and the shortest hire is one hour. At 8.5 metres long and 2.1 metres tall, a Hummer can't fit every street or driveway, so where that happens the chauffeur stops as close as is safely possible.

Book A Hummer does not publish a price list. Every booking is quoted on how long you need the vehicle, where it is picking up and dropping off, and how many passengers are travelling, and hourly rates are calculated base to base. A deposit of $440 per Hummer or $220 per other vehicle, plus a valid credit card, secures the date. General hire is finalised on arrival at the pick-up location and wedding bookings are finalised at least three days beforehand. Credit card payments attract a surcharge of 2 per cent on Visa and Mastercard, 3 per cent on American Express and 4.5 per cent on Diners Club. Cancellations within 28 days of a general hire booking, or within three months of a wedding, are charged in full.

Pick-ups cover all of Sydney, from the CBD, north shore and eastern suburbs to the west and south, the Hills District, Ryde, Parramatta and Penrith, with trips to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Illawarra and the Hunter Valley as well. Formals and graduations are best booked three to four months ahead, and couples often lock in wedding cars a year out.
