About Function Room @ The Boathouse at the Spit
The Boathouse at The Spit sits at the Middle Harbour 16ft Skiff Club in Mosman, right on the water, and it's run by Zest Waterfront Venues. It has taken Best Reception Venue (NSW) for seven consecutive years from 2018 to 2024, and the national award in 2022 and 2023 — a track record that shows in how the room is finished. The style is rustic but polished: warm timber, imported stone and gold-leaf ceilings, with the harbour doing most of the work through the windows. Capacity is the real drawcard — up to 450 guests cocktail style, or 300 seated with a dancefloor — and operable walls let the room be divided down for more intimate events, so a 60-person birthday doesn't rattle around in a space built for 450. The room has Wi-Fi, a projector, PA system, air conditioning, storage space and plenty of natural light. Bookings run from 8am, the alcohol licence goes to 2am with extensions available, and there's free on-street parking around The Spit.
