Bucks Party Venues in Manly

How Bucks Party Venues Actually Work

Whisky in a hidden basement, then beers on a rooftop, or the other way round: a groom's last hurrah in Manly can use both of these venues, a short walk apart in the middle of town.

Getting into The Cumberland means walking through what looks like a deli's fridge door, then heading downstairs to a single candlelit bar that seats 75. Exclusive hire hands the whole place to the bucks. High above The Corso, Rooftop Garden Bar @ New Brighton Hotel takes whole-floor bookings only, from $3,500 minimum spend.

A bucks plan built from the two:

Warm-up: a two-hour cocktail lesson downstairs for six or more, starting with a welcome drink and finishing with plates to pick at.
Whisky round: more than 250 bottles line the basement, alongside craft beer and natural wine.
Main event: the New Brighton rooftop takes 75 standing, with bartenders and waiters working only for the bucks.
Roasts and videos: a PA and a screen come with the roof.
Timing: rooftop bookings can sit anywhere from 10am to 11pm, so it works as a long afternoon or the night's finale.

When splitting the cost among the boys, allow for The Cumberland's 10% service fee on groups over ten.

The fridge-door entrance makes a good surprise if the groom hasn't been told where he's going.
The drinks list runs from prohibition-era classics to cocktails named after old Sydney counties.
Charcuterie, cheese boards, tapas and oysters keep a drinking crowd fed.
The door policy is adults only, so check every mate is over 18.
