About Rustic Kitchen

Rustic Kitchen has been catering Italian food around Sydney since 2013. It started with a wood-fired oven and pizza, grew into full event catering, and now runs its own restaurant, I Maccheroni, on Jersey Road in Woollahra, which supplies the ingredients for its events. The team works in homes, on boats and at venues, mostly around the Eastern Suburbs, for birthdays, engagements, weddings, Christmas parties and corporate events, and handles groups from 10 to more than 200. There are several ways to book. Wood-fired pizza stations use a portable Ooni oven for smaller groups or a mobile oven cart for bigger outdoor events, with pizzas made in front of guests. Canape packages bring five or eight chef's choice canapes, or you can build an a la carte selection. The function menu covers shared plates for small groups and entree, main and salad courses for larger ones, and there is a drop-off menu of platters, bowls and substantials for boat days and casual gatherings. Live stations add theatre: risotto, gnocchi, an oyster bar, a mozzarella-making bar, cacio e pepe tossed in a parmesan wheel, grazing tables and dessert stations. Chefs and RSA waitstaff are charged by the hour on top of the food, and travel time is charged for events further out. Drinks packages of two to four hours include wine, beer, prosecco, soft drinks, ice and basic glassware, with a platinum option adding spirits and cocktails. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes are marked on the menus. Rustic Kitchen suits relaxed, generous celebrations built around shared Italian food.
